Studies have shown that music can
dramatically affect people with dementia and a huge number of people in care
homes have some form of dementia. Music has the ability to unlock
long-forgotten memories, reaching parts of the brain that other forms of
communication are unable to.
As an experienced, professional residential care home entertainer I have many regular customers in Northampton and surrounding areas whose residents thoroughly enjoy being able to reminisce and sing along to the music that has been a part of their journey through life.
For younger audiences such as those at homes caring
for residents with acquired brain injuries or learning difficulties I
also play a wide variety of well known classic pop hits, ranging from
the 1960's through to the 2000's.
Fancy Some Flute?
I always like to vary the type of saxophones I perform with, using tenor, alto, soprano, or a combination of at least two, however I have recently introduced some great new songs played on a concert flute. These will be played by me, not by the cool cat shown in the picture above!
